In 2015, the United Nations listed the world’s major social issues and their respective goals: the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The target for achieving the SDGs is 2030. We strongly believe that the Dutch philanthropic sector can contribute to the SDGs. Our plan is to connect foundations with the SDGs, highlight what the SDGs can mean for operations and policy, and encourage foundations to either give more or give differently.
There is not only a lot of money in the world of philanthropy for social initiatives, but also a lot of knowledge. Thousands of foundations, advisors and scientists jointly form a huge network with a wealth of knowledge and experience. We see it as our task to facilitate the sharing of this knowledge so that the available donations can be put to good use effectively and with as great an impact as possible on society.
